Unbelievable View of the Elephant Lake

A few times in a lifetime, you have a moment or event which goes way beyond your expectations, and you know you will remember it forever. Sometimes it can be one thing but very rarely is it a multitude of things, animals, people, and places. Keyla and I had the opportunity to experience this with TJ.

There are so many memories I can only list a few. From the wonderful room with an unbelievable views of the elephant lake, all of the animals that came to the lake, seeing every one of the Big 5 on the game park, private dinners made to order with excellent chefs, to the entire team that celebrated Keyla’s birthday and taught her how to dance African style, we were so happy and at peace we barely could bring ourselves to leave our new friends. The memories are captured in our minds and in many pictures, but we cannot wait to come back next year!

Private Safari Guide Makes Everyone Feel Like Family

We scheduled a safari with TJ based on a recommendation from a friend and it was the best recommendation we have ever received. It was our first safari, but it definitely won’t be our last.

TJ is so welcoming, he makes everyone feel like they are family from the first step on property. But, anyone can be a great host… TJ backs it up with encyclopedic knowledge of the bush, the incredible animals and the ecosystem as a whole. You leave TJ with a newfound appreciation of nature and its fragile balance.

Every outing is special, but my favorite was our last when TJ tracked around the reserve to find us giraffes. He was as excited as the rest of us to find them, but what happened after was nothing short of magical as we proceeded to see almost every type of animal in the bush in the next 30 minutes as the sun set. While heading back to the lodge, we stopped for an impromptu outdoor cocktail hour that we will cherish forever.

Safari of a Lifetime

We are lucky enough to have met TJ a few years ago and were blown away by his extraordinary knowledge, which is both diverse and deep about all flora and fauna, from the humble dung beetle to the majestic lion, to the soaring eagles and the beautiful kingfishers, he knows them all.

His ability to predict the behaviour and direction of the animals when you are on a game drive is uncanny, and nearly always results in a sighting that you never forget. If you like taking photos he always positions you for that perfect shot.
